1. To prevent more black boy and black men from being gun down in the street by cops.
2. To keep their sons from being incarcerated for throwing rocks at police officer. If one officer would have gotten hit or injured they could have been charged with a crime. Battery, Aggravated assault of a police officer is punishable up to $10,000 and/or 5 to 30 years in prison.
3. Although, Baltimore Police were told to stand down the damage that was done to the community and police vehicles was estimated at 9 million dollar. If all mother would have checked their sons less damage could have done.
4. If all mothers could have stop their rock throwing rioting sons new laws would not have been made that would restrict Blacks from freedoms that they all ready have.
5. If more mothers could have kept their sons from violently protesting black men would be less targeted by police.
6. If more mothers could have stop their sons in Baltimore the stereo-type of Black men being violent, lazy and ignorance might have been changed.
7. If the Baltimore gang-banging sons could have been stopped by their mothers this would have sent a clear message to the gang -leader that they can't in our community and recruit or intimidate mothers and their sons to commit such acts in the future.
8. If more mother could have stopped their sons from violent protest their son would have realize that violent protest has never solve anything. In fact they would have learned that it makes things worst.
9. If more mothers could have stopped their sons in the Baltimore protest the media would not have been able to slant the story.
10. The final reason why more mothers if they could have stopped their angry violently protesting sons during the Baltimore riots would have protected the nation from powers-that-be that seem to perpetrating these situation across the country. The message that those mothers would have sent was we are not going to allow you the powers-that-be to continue this charade. Black men as well Black communities are being provoke to angrier over injustice, yet with each event that occurs the message is clear there will be no justice. What else is also clear is that progress have never been made through protest, violent or non-violent. It was the inhuman practice and treat of protesters that spark change with a hidden agenda.
Case and point, the protest in the days of Dr. Martin Luther King, although non-violent protest cause many to lose their and suffer more injuries. But, did most of the protest do? It opened the door Black small business to lose their businesses.
As Black America got their so called freedom Big Store owned by White business moved closer to the black community with lower priced goods. This forced the small Black businesses owner out of business.
The protest although Blacks marched non-violently as they were attacked some were provoke to defend themselves. This ended in injuries, death and compromise.
Another thing that the protest led to when the powers-that-be attacked was the protesters looking like the enemy and the cops looking like the victim, especially through the eyes of the media. It was only the sensible people who realized the truth.
Finally, the protest lead to a lack of freedom for days and months. This occur in almost ever protest that turned violent for whatever reason. In the case of Tulsa, Oklahoma and the attack on the Black Wall Street, the Wilmington, North Carolina riots in 1898, Rosewood, Florida and other area across this nation blacks lost their freedom, as well as property. They lost sons and daughters, mothers and fathers. The National Guard was called in some cases Marshall law declared. This restricted freedom. The question we must ask ourselves as Blacks living in America are we going to fall for this again. Will we let the powers-that-be provoke us to the point of violence? Will we let the hired gangs come in and destroy our neighborhoods only to have our property stolen from under our noses. Will we allow gangs to destroy what we have built forcing us to start over again and again? Will we allow this and eventually have the powers-that-be declare Marshall Law and UN forces taking over the nation?
It was not the responsibility of the Baltimore woman alone. I don't believe in violence, but applaud that mother for getting her son out of there. It is all of our responsibility to stop this madness. We can't assault those who assault us or commit battery. Our weapons are our brains. We must use them because the reality is if we don't use them others will use them against us.
In the 60s Blacks made progress by boycotting. When the labor banks dried up. The real currency was exposed. Black American labor was seen as the currency of the nation. Black America is the gold, the silver and the bronze. We are the fabric that seamstress search for. We are the herbs, the spices that flavor the food. We are the straw that stirs the drink. It is time that we stop and think.
