America is known the melting-pot. What does that mean? According to most dictionaries it means a place where different peoples, styles, theories, etc., are mixed together. That should mean or imply that any place called the melting-pot should be a place where others can coexist. A country that boast of tolerance under the guise of freedom should display evidence. That evidence of tolerance should be overwhelming. Many fore-parents fleed to America because of religious persecution and because of that reason alone tolerance should be in the hearts of all. But, unfortunately in America the so called “melting-pot” to a large degree lacks tolerance. Many races have felt the intolerance. But, it appears that no has felt it more than the Black race. Being bi-racial in America gives us a unique perspective on racial intolerance and also tolerance. These unique perspective allow us to see that bi-racial children and adults seem to feel intolerance from both sided of their racial groups that they represent. I have arrived at this conclusion that being bi-racial in America can present some challenges that can make one frustrated and disappointed not only with common everyday people, but also with a system that perpetrate racial intolerance and tolerance based on skin color. It a poison that is killing the soul of a nation that suppose to be tolerant of all races and ethnic groups.
